According to DigiTimes, Pegatron, a Taiwan-based DMS (Design and Manufacturing Service) company, received order to manufacture CDMA iPhones at a rate of 10 million per year. “Pegatron Technology has received orders for an iPhone based on CDMA from Apple with annual shipments expected to reach 10 million units. The orders should start contributing to the Taiwan-based company’s revenues in August or September, according to sources from component makers,” the report said. Accordng to the report, Pegatron has declined to comment. Pegatron’s name was first reported by Wall Street Journal in a report on March 30. That report mentioned that Pegatron Technology will manufacture the CDMA iPhone and the expected mass production date is September 2010. Another report earlier in the month suggested that Foxconn already started the assembly of the next generation GSM iPhone. Foxconn is the same company assembled iPhone 3GS and the iPad.
