Apple uploads 2010 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote with Steve Jobs

Apple made available the 2010 Worldwide Developers Conference keynote streaming for viewing. The file is available in QuickTime MPEG-4 format. Steve Jobs took the stage and announced the next generation iPhone, the iPhone 4 among other things. iPhone 4 is 24% thinner that iPhone 3GS. It has glass in front and back, two cameras, front and back, and also LED flash. The frame of the new device acts as antenna for better reception. The new device comes with a brand new Retina display. The new display has four-times the density of the display found in iPhone 3GS. Apple claims the new display has 326 pixels per inch and 800:1 contrast ratio. The new device is powered by the A4 processor found in the iPad. iPhone 4 will give 7 hours of 3G talk, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 10 hours of WiFi browsing, 10 hours of video, and 40 hours of music with 300 hours standby. The new device comes with a second microphone for noise cancellation. Apple added another position sensor to the device called “gyroscope”. With this, the iPhone gets a total six-axis sensors. The back side of the new phone features a 5 megapixels camera utilizing backside illuminated sensor. The new camera is capable of recording HD video at 720p at 30fps. The new device supports Video Call over WiFi called “FaceTime”. Jobs also announced iAd contracts, iBooks and iBookStore for iPhone with support for PDF, iMovie for iPhone that allows edit of HD recorded movies, and iOS 4.
