Apple announced iPhone 4 on Monday and together the company announced iMovie app for iPhone. Apple didn’t announce any other new application however looking closely at the features iPhone webpage a screenshot suggests that Apple hold back from announcing iWork for the iPhone. One of the features on iOS is the ability to open attachments with third party apps. “iPhone supports rich HTML email, so images appear inline with text. And you see email attachments such as Microsoft Office documents or PDFs in their original format. You can even open attachments in compatible third-party apps,” Apple says in the webpage. The screenshot of the feature shows an email with attachment and a popup prompting to open the file with Keynote. Apple later removed the screenshot and replaced it with an iBook attachment option. This probably indicates that Apple was not ready to announce iWork for iPhone yet. The next chance for Apple will be early November during the company’s music oriented event.
