In a letter to the FCC on June 4, Apple asked FCC to withhold documents for the new iPhone 4 in order to protect design and technical secrets. Apple asked for Short Term Confidentiality of 45 days on the following items: Test Setup Photographs, External Photographs, Internal Photographs and User manual. Apple also asked for Permanent Confidentiality of the following documents: Block Diagram, Operational Description, Applications Processor Schematic, Cellular Radio Schematic, Applications Processor Bill of Material, Cellular Radio Bill of Material, WiFi and Bluetooth Bill of Material and Antenna Gain and Patterns. “These documents reveal detailed technical and design information that is protected by Apple as confidential and proprietary trade secrets.
