Apple continues to insist that all smartphones experience an antenna issue when someone holds the device in a certain way. After videos of BlackBerry Bold 9700, HTC Droid Eris, Nokia N97 mini and Samsung Omnia II showing the antenna issue on these devices, now Apple posted a video demonstrating Motorola Droid X with the same problem. The video shows Droid X going from 3 bars to 0 bars when the device is being held, to 3 bars again. Apple officially started this “campaign” during a press conference to address iPhone 4 antenna issue, when Steve Jobs presented the first 3 videos for BlackBerry Bold 9700, HTC Droid Eris, and Samsung Omnia II. While Apple makes a good point that phones loose signal when some touches the device near the antenna, it doesn’t address the issue that iPhone 4 exposed the antenna in such a way that it is very easy to experience the issue.
RIM, Nokia and Samsung already issued statements on Apple’s attempt to present the iPhone 4 antenna issue as a problem of all smartphones.
