Best Buy will give a free invisibleSHIELD 4fix kit to all iPhone 4 customers who purchased their iPhone 4 from Best Buy / Best Buy Mobile or for Best Buy Reward Zone members. In addition Best Buy will offer installation of the kit for free. “Based on a number of tips that we’ve received, we’re getting the impression that the yellow-tagged retailer could be handing out (and installing) completely free side coverings for any iPhone 4 owner that waltzes into a store, presumably as a proactive measure to fend off returns or to upsell consumers on an entire invisibleSHIELD / separate case,” Engadget reported. The official Best Buy name for the product is the Zagg SideShield, which costs $9.99.
Apple also launched a program to offer free iPhone 4 Bumper cases a week ago. Users need to download the iPhone 4 Case Program app (iTunes link) on their iPhone 4 device and register with their iTunes Store account or Apple ID. Apple announced that it will provide iPhone 4 customers with free Bumper cases, or a different case, after heavy criticism that iPhone 4 has a reception issue when someone touches the device in the lower left corner. iPhone 4 users with a Bumper case do to experience the issue.
