Rumors of a new MacBook Air are all over the place. Some say the new Air will be even smaller compared to the current model. Time Center blogger Niclas put together all the rumors and came up with an illustration on what the new Air might look like. Here is what he thinks (from his blog):
- The keyboard looks as big as before! To be able to shrink the body, and still keep the full size keyboard intact some of the sexy bezel had to go. But not too much, we wouldn’t want it too rough.
– Oh… the touchpad looks sexy! The glass touchpad we all love from the latest generation of MacBooks is finally here with a size as big as 1.6″ x 1.0″ (41 mm x 25 mm).
– The screen is smaller, but is it brighter? Of course. The MacBook Air now has the same LED backlit glossy screen as the MacBooks and is significantly brighter than the previous MacBook Air.
– Is it really possible to fit all the electronics in there? That was probably what everyone was saying when MacBook Air was first launched. Components are simply getting smaller and smaller, and Apple manages to find the slimmest to fit into the MacBook Air. For example, Seagate has a harddrive that is 7mm thick (0.28 inch). To make it fit in this design, the screen needs to be really thin. Wait, this sounds almost impossible. But if anyone can do it, it’s Apple!
