Apple today sent out invitations to select members of the media about a special event in San Francisco. The event was rumored and expected. ”Please join us for an invitation-only event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco on September 1 at 10.:00 a.m. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. Please arrive early,” the invitation reads. Apple is expected to unveil new products during the traditionally music oriented event. New iPod touch with 2 cameras for FaceTime and retina display, new Apple TV, rumored to renamed to iTV, new iPod mini and maybe a new MacBook Air. While a new Apple TV (iTV) with 99 cents shows rentals that will play on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch will be interesting, it is not expected to be Steve Jobs’ “one more thing” item. It remains to be seen what surprises Apple’s CEO has in its sleeves.
