Apple today seeded the third beta of Mac OS X 10.6.5 to developers for testing. The build number for the new beta is 10H531. There is one known issue with the new beta. People familiar with the latest build said the lone issue is associated with VMware. Having it installed can cause USB devices to not work when the Mac is awoken from sleep mode. Apple has asked developers to focus on a few key areas for the latest beta, including iCal, Mail, USB Devices, QuickTime, Time Machine and 3D graphics. The update weights 557 MB. This third beta is coming just a week after Apple seeded beta 2 to developers on August 19th. Based on that it looks like Apple is getting closer on publicly releasing Mac OS X 10.6.5. The update might come just before or just after Apple’s music event next week. Apple released Mac OS X 10.6.4 in June.
