Apple adds Game Center icon tag to Apps that support the feature

Apple today added a new icon tag to iOS applications that support Game Center. The new tag is showing just below the last update date on a list of apps or on the top right corner of the detailed app page. A fully functional Game Center is expected for all iOS devices with the release of iOS 4.2 later this week. Apple started to approve iPad apps with Game Center support last week.

Apple announced Game Center in April as a new feature of iOS 4. Game Center provides iOS game applications with capabilities like Invite friends, Matchmaking, Leaderboards and Achievements. Developers can take advantage of the API to provide their customers with a better gaming experience.
